Abstract

Edge computing is revolutionizing the paradigm of data processing by enabling computation closer to data sources, thus reducing latency and bandwidth usage while enhancing real-time decision-making capabilities. This paper explores the architecture, benefits, and challenges of edge computing in various domains, including IoT, healthcare, and smart cities. Emphasis is placed on how edge computing complements cloud computing to meet the demands of real-time applications. The study also presents current deployments, frameworks, and future research directions relevant to Pakistan’s technological landscape.
