Abstract

The application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in the aerodynamic design and optimization of wind turbine blades has revolutionized the renewable energy sector. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of CFD methodologies applied in wind turbine blade design, focusing on enhancing aerodynamic efficiency and structural performance. By simulating airflow behavior and evaluating blade geometry under various environmental conditions, CFD enables rapid prototyping and cost-effective design iteration. The paper reviews turbulence modeling, mesh optimization, and boundary conditions to analyze lift-to-drag ratios, pressure distribution, and flow separation. Results demonstrate that CFD-aided designs offer significant improvements in power output and structural reliability compared to traditional methods. The integration of CFD with optimization algorithms further accelerates the development of next-generation wind turbines adapted for Pakistan’s wind corridors
